Mexico Trip (Part Two): Welcome Reception... and the Biggest Mishap! (04/30/08)

Before we went down the to reception we walked a little on the beach and had a few drinks at the bar in the hotel, just wanted to chill before what Sprint had planned for us.

The reception Sprint had for us is this nice dinner out in the Hotel's Garden. It's a really pretty site, flowers blooming, all the tables and chairs were white, had hanging piƱatas also those hanging tissue paper banners. It was great setting for our first night in Puerto Vallarta (I did not take any pictures of this event, and I'm so pissed that I didn't.) As we got our food and drinks situated their was a speaker giving the "Thanks for all of your hard work now enjoy!" speech and we did just that. The only thing I was looking forward to that night was just the endless supply of alcohol as much as we can drink... I kind of don't remember what I drank really I most likely started our with "cervezas" and made my way to heavier drinks. We sat with the other folks from Des Moines but some has left a little ways after and also had a little chat with some ladies from California (they were older...)

After eating we just kind of hung out around the hotel. We went to the beach a little that's when Marty was most excited it seems, because he stripped his clothes and jumped into the ocean (there's pictures somewhere but not on my camera) It was a pretty sunset that evening and we were at the beach to enjoy it even a little under the influence. A little later we found the Des Moines group again (This time only a few of them) they were just drinking at a table asking if we want to go out tonight downtown to some bars and clubs. In my head while intoxicated was like HELL YEAH! and seriously we're in Mexico first night gotta do something big you know? So we were going out with the higher up guy that connects EDS to Sprint (I don't want to mention names because if they were to "Google" their name I don't want it to find this blog) Since I'm already drunk I just said yeah no problem.

We all met at the front lobby and took a couple cabs to this bar (I completely forgot the name of the bar) anyway it was not that big of a bar or anything but there were bathroom attendants there, I tipped him a dollar for handing me a paper towel haha. When I was about to twitter then about that, I dug in my pockets and realized my phone is gone. I was tripping out a little I just wanted to keep it to myself until someone had to make it a deal. So then the "head guy" we'll call him MM had called the phone and there was no answer I was freaking! My $600 iPhone is missing in a country I'm not familiar with UGH!! I was so upset I can't believe I could be so irresponsible for my stuff. I do believe I left my iPhone on the table we were sitting at in the Garden of the hotel but I might as well lost it anywhere because I didn't end up getting it back before our trip back. I just didn't want it to hinder our outing so I just kept moving right along... We walked a little down the street just being our drunk selves in public while trying to enjoy the night with my lost phone. Later that night I believe MM wanted to still go out and shoot some pool and drink some more, no one else went except one guy, we all went back to the hotel. That night for me had to end I hopped in bed and just passed out not even under the covers.

That's why all you people that were going to follow me on twitter, didn't get any updates from me the rest of trip 'til I got back into the states and first thing I said was I lost my phone! I'm very upset to this day about losing it and Apple's insurrance do not cover lost phones so I'm screwed, I can buy a whole new phone full price to not effect my contract or buy another iPhone that would also extend my contract again with AT&T this sucks.
