Running for Komen
This was written up a little late but I just wanted to make an entry that I did a run for Komen Race for the Cure on October 4, 2014. It was a very cold day but a few friends of mine got together and ran the 5k. I'm just happy after such a long break from working out and after my European Vacation I was able to make this run. I know 5k isn't really that far but I still think it's an accomplishment to be as fit as I am and to make the run possible, also it doesn't hurt that it's for a great cause too.

Stencil Artist at Liar's Club
My cousin's boyfriend, Robert Dencklau is a stencil artist and currently he's working on one of Des Moines's hottest clubs, "Liar's Club." I had a lunch with them last Saturday morning and he invited us to go up there during nonbusiness hours to check it out. Here's a just a few pictures.
Here is another one of his work at the "Gaslamp"

celebrAsian 2011
May 14 was the day of the Annual Asian Heritage Festival aka CelebrAsian! I've been volunteering for them the past 3 years and every year it's been a roller coaster but somehow we've managed to get through a successful year. This year was definitely different, I can't say it's better or worse but with a new leader it wasn't something I wasn't use to. The thing that made me really love volunteering for this group was because I really made some great friends from it, actually close friends. I love the time I spent helping putting this whole thing together with great people but I think it's time for me to retire from it all. DEUCES!

An Email to You.
There’s no fixing your past, that’s just it. So you have limp leg for the rest of your life, but you’re still able to walk. People have flaws you need to just live with them and move on. Dwelling on a problem leads to weakness and people will feel sorry for you. Don’t make people around you feel sorry for you, you got to let it be known that you’re capable of handling yourself. People will take advantage of your weakness and use you, knowing that you are so eager to find someone to commit and tell all how you feel. Just think of your child, don’t make them see your flaws. They learn from you and would feel it would be alright to grow up being inept.
I hope you get some perspective on what I just said… You just need to hear it as blunt as it may seem.

So I Went to the New Kids Concert... Oh oh OHHHOH
Yes, I did I went to the New Kids on the Block concert this Monday, they were at Wells Fargo Arena. The main reason I went was because JabbaWockeez were going to be their opening act and if you know me from this site and outside of this blog I'm obsessed with them. Totally! I have their mask, shirts, hats, and gloves. So I know that right on the ticket it says no cameras and no recorders but I couldn't help myself and brought both anyway... I was kinda upset because as they were performing we were in the middle of finding our seats and I try to record as much as I can of their performance, I was so excited I could get some of them and took very little pictures because I was relying on recording them as much as I could...
So this bastard came up to me and grabbed my FlipVideo camera and deleted all my files telling me that I will not have it out again. I was like yeah whatever you say... We found our correct seats and so I was like hey since we're in the middle of all these people let's go ahead and record some more I mean I really wanted some footage of the Jabba's up there since I'm a big fan and all... So I had a lot of great footage and was happy that I got most of it. After they were done I was thrilled I got some great videos and can go home happy, I don't need to see New Kids... I wasn't really that big of fan of them anyway...
There was this long break after the JabbaWockeez performed and waited for New Kids, and we just stayed in our seats until it started. Finally they came on my cousin and friend was having a blast they loved the show and took lots of pictures on my camera I borrowed from my other cousin, Rosie. I was continuing on recording with my FlipVideo. Later as the show went on they went on a stage that was in the middle of the audience and performed a little there to work the crowd that had not so great seats in the front. We were all standing on our seats now and I was so damn close to them like literally seeing each wrinkle and sweat, even though I wasn't a fan it was kind of exciting that we were that close to them and they performed for all of us. I recorded as much as I did on my FlipVideo I was so excited I got this recording because it was such great footage of them singing. After they moved back to front again we got back on the floor and I put my Flip back into my pocket then someone grabbed my arm tightly telling me to give him my camera... SHIT! It was the same FUCK who deleted my stuff the first time! I was so mad at myself for letting myself get caught the second time and the same guy... (I guess I do stick out like a sore thumb since I was in a crowd filled with women. I say the ratio was around 1 of 100 were guys... So my night turned really sour from that on and I was just wanting the show to end right there because I was done, I put on a smile for the rest of the night to not ruin my cousin and friend's fun. So now, I went to this damn concert with only really planning to see the JabbaWockeez and now with no video proof of seeing them perform...
***Next day I went to my CelebrAsian Entertainment Meeting and my friend Robin went to the concert too telling me that during the break between JabbaWockeez and New Kids, the Jabba's were in the Hallway doing a signing and taking pictures... FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! I had to say that I cannot believe I wasted the time just sitting in my seats when I could've had my shirt signed and taken pictures with them. How messed up is this? Well I'll try to move on from this, I just wished I can redo this night all over again I would totally change everything we did. Hopefully when I move to California I would have more opportunities to check them out live.
Here are some pictures of some of the night... oh and I got like one shot of the JabbaWockeez on stage and it was really dark so it's not even a good one... UGH!!! (To see them all Click Here)

I Joined CelebrAsian!

So, I have a task for whoever reads this... I am collecting pictures of anybody with a sign saying "I Joined, CelebrAsian." it seriously doesn't have to be as fancy as the above picture at all, (FEEL FREE TO BE CREATIVE WITH IT THOUGH) it could be just from your desktop on your webcam looking dumb in your PJs. It could be you in a crowded hallway displaying the sign, it doesn't have to be big. Maybe you want to show off where you live and show off the skyline of your city, as long as you have a sign that says "I Joined, CelebrAsian" I could care less what you do... well, scratch that, don't make it vulgar. I'll probably be displaying a YouTube video for people to do this... I'm probably not going to get a lot of feedback but hey, whatever right? Seriously I did this picture below in 5 minutes, you can do it too!

If you are actually planning to come to CelebrAsian (May 16) and are not camera shy make a video on your reasoning why you are "joining in" the festivities. You can say how you enjoy the asian culture or just there for the food, it really doesn't matter.
All pictures and videos can be sent to otis.khounlo.gmail.com
I'm really looking forward to the pictures!

Fake Baking...

So yes... That's what I've been doing, I know it's a very superficial thing to do but it's actually relaxing to lay in that warm light, I don't know I have other reasons why I'm going, but I don't feel like sharing that. I thought the whole process is weird you lay in a bed naked for a couple minutes and that's that. I've only went 2 times and my whole torso is burnt! My arms and legs are fine but I feel so uncomfortable when sometimes just putting on a shirt... When does this process stop burning and I'll just tan. I don't usually burn except the time I was in Mexico (that was expected) but man I guess places that don't really see the sun at all just burns like immediately.

I Guess I'm "Not Motivated"
So it seems that at work they have dropped me from being a teamlead and back to a regular agent that's suppose to just sit there and take calls all day...
NOTE: If you don't know, I work for an outsourcing company for a Technical Call Center for a Cellphone provider, troubleshooting Blackberry devices.
I've noticed that in the past weeks that they wanted to change things around and kind of go back the way it use to be with the "Team Leads" and have them actual take more part of their position and have more responsiblities. I wasn't asked again to be one, I was wondering why at first I mean I do have the knowledge and I am great to the agents on the floor, I just didn't know what's the reasoning... As you may know I am looking for another job at this time so I really just shrugged it off thinking I'll just be on my way anyway, also I'm use to just being up there at one point and dropping again that what they've been doing to me the whole time I've worked there.
Anyway I guess one of people that were asked denied the position didn't want to be walking the entire time and likes his position of handing out "Tier3 tickets" to other agents to be worked on. (Tier 3 was once a department that we would transfer to after we done our regular troubleshooting with no resolution, now that department is gone so our center decided to take over.) So a supervisor asked if I wanted to fill in the spot. Exactly what I said was, "I don't care, I'll do whatever" I guess that is not what he was looking for. He wanted me to jump up for joy that I was being asked SECOND to be a "Team Lead" he said this "the reason why we didn't ask you is because it doesn't seem you were motivated to be one."
I can't believe this fool, he seriously said that to me? How could one be "motivated" after being in the position I've been in throughout the time I worked there... I know this probably doesn't mean much to you that doesn't work with me... But I've been doing so much side projects and shit for this place (Floor walker, SME, Team Lead, Helpdesk, pulled CSAT reports, basically assisted with pulling in the CDMA project, Writing up parts of a knowledge base we use, TIER3, I've been at position when the whole Blackberry project came to Des Moines.) Yet I'm getting paid the same amount as the people that are just doing their jobs of just sitting on the phones not having to be the best on their quality of Customer Service.
So really I don't care if they decided to make me a Team Lead again or not, I gave him my answer whatever he decides... I just think I'm worth more than this job and it usually just brings me down thinking about it. I was lying in bed before typing this out thinking about it, it's very depressing sometimes...

~~~~~~*****OH SECOND THING!
I didn't get a 3G iPhone today... unfortunately AT&T is being an awful company to just the regular individuals users and will not credit me for my lost iPhone roaming charges in Mexico I didn't make and wants me to pay it all... so they cut off my service because I couldn't pay all of it, here's a blog entry all about it...
OH MY F*CK... NO I shouldn't censor myself FUCK!
If anyone out there can help me with this problem that would be great!
Des Moines, IA Flood of '08
I didn't really want to blog about the flood here we're having here in Iowa, but I guess it's happening and I can't really think of what to type about tonight and I just wanted to post something... Sorry in advance for not really having the best coverage but it's just going to be about me in this situation and not so much about how others are experiencing it. So as some may know I do live downtown Des Moines not too far away from the Des Moines River, Tuesday June 10, 2008 I took some laundry and brought it to my parents' house and just decided to spend the night there since all we heard this week on the news that flooding will occur. Wednesday June 11, 2008 I just went to work like a normal day and it was raining pretty hard, I got a call from a friend saying that Court Avenue's flooded and sent me some pictures via MMS on his phone...
Picture shot by Joseph Mireles
I guess I didn't know how to respond it wasn't far away from my apartment... It's not like I'm worried for my things because I live on the 3rd floor, our city would have to be in some major disaster to reach up there. I just made plans to check it out after work. When I got down there though Court Avenue was all dried up so we just checked out the river and see how high it was... here some pictures (Sorry for the quality of the pics they're shot on my mobile phone.)
I most likely will have more updates on this as it gets worse... oh and water levels are higher than these pictures today... So the water is rising. There's a great website someone I'm following on twitter giving updates on the flood we're having.
Oh hey! Isn't that sad about Tim Russert? He always seems like such a nice, intelligent, professional man that doesn't ever seem to pick sides. NBC lost a good political news journalist.---check>
