The Call

Let me tell you about this call that actually made me feel good about myself. Ok thing was is that I got this call at 7:00. This lady is soooo mad at the people that has helped her she's been transfered to 3 people before me and no one can help and she was really just thinking of just totally just sending the blackberry back and leaving sprint or nextel whatever we are. Anyway when I got the person who transfered to me she was talking to me making me feel nervous about the call how she was so upset about being transfered and they are not able to help her out and how she's been on a call for 3 hours another day before... I was kinda like uhmm ok... you can send her over I guess... She was MAD oh my goodness! She was telling OK ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE THIS PHONE ACTIVE AND HAVE EMAIL! THAT'S ALL I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH TONIGHT! I was uhmm ok so I checked her account and everything seems to be fine. Ok so I finally asked her what does it say on the corner of the screen. OFF. OH MY GOD SO SIMPLE! Ok just click on the icon where it says "turn wireless on" ok she did that OH MY GOODNESS FINALLY PHONE SERVICE! It was so simple just a click of a button what that problem down. Now she's finally cooled down and started to be really nice to me. SHE LOVED MY NAME. So now her email that's where it gets tricky.

She wants to get her gmail (google e-mail) to her blackberry. I wasn't sure if the google offered pop access for her so I was very cautious to tell her something if it wasn't true. So I had to kinda go out of my way to find out if gmail was pop accessible. That took me a little time but found out that it was. So I was trying to get her to set up her email account to integrate it with the blackberry she was having problems but then when I asked if she I could try to do it she said it was alright but that meant that she needed to give me her gmail password. Ok I tried and YEY IT WORKED! Oh man she just totally relaxed after that and started telling me about her friend and how he was so cheap and such. She turned out to be a very nice lady. Joan was her name. After a while she just started to get relaxed and wanting to know about all the features and junk I just told her about it and said if she wanted to know more it's in her manual and stuff she knew that I wanted to leave but she was ok I helped her much and she told me that it was people like me who they need for this to have her feel comfortable get her to calm down. It really made me feel good about myself. The call took an hour I got down at 8:00 I was schedule to leave at 7:30...

Thanksgiving @ The house!

So we had a "Sue-Kwun" and Thanksgiving at my house, man was it crowded! Cousins I haven't seen for a long time and just people that I really don't know are at my house for Thanksgiving and it's one huge party! Almost every room had people in it chillin' watching TV, playing cards, karaoke, drinking, just everything! So the "sue-kwun" was for my mother. She's kinda just not having the best of luck with anything recently so hopefully this will help with her with that and get her back to place and everything. I don't really know how these things work but we get a pig and tie black yarn on our wrists. I'm to lazy to build a thumbnail viewer of the pictures at Thanksgiving so I'm just going to give you the link of the folder it's in.

Thanksgiving Pictures

My cousin, Tina is a strange one so the pictures might be very random and junk. So it started out really slow I haven't ate anything all day waiting to eat later when everything got there. MAN I WAS STARVING!! Whatever well kids were all in my room playing video games or using the internet talking to one another I was bored of course no one my age had came over yet. So I was just browsing the Internet until people were around to talk to. I guess Tina and Kevin came and we were comparing each other's phone. At first I thought I had an awesome phone, BUT MAN! My cousins has dope phones too! Man my phone looks weak now! yeah yeah so anyway day was boring just watch tv talking to people and it got to the point to watching MTV's Making the band and looking in the newpaper catelogs for things to get for Christmas and stuff like that. So it was so busy and the men were getting drunk downstairs we hear them "Let's go drinking man" making us laugh a bit. They all didn't leave until like around 3 something and I went to bed at like 4:30 havint o work at 8 the next day... That's my Thanksgiving. I didn't even watch the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving this year... oh well.

New Yorkers are MEAN! You know what I'm saying?

So working here at my job troubleshooting for the Nextel Blackberries is tough. All these damn people wanting to fix there blackberry and they are so damn rude sometimes. You know what I'm saying? I'm so happy when I get a very patient person I mean they should be nice to us. We're the ones who they go to when something of theres is messed up! You know what I'm saying? Also talking from people nationwide, I have came to the conclusion that New Yorkers are MEAN! You know what I'm saying? This chick called me I have to ask for her information and stuff and she was so mad that we have to get this everytime she calls. You know what I'm saying? This is how the conversation kinda went I don't remember her name or exactly what she said but close enough...

She was soo mean I didn't know what to do. I helped her with her problem though so whatever. She wasn't even greatful damn new yorkers! You know what I'm saying? Yeah so talking to people on the phone isn't the greatest thing especially when you really don't know much about what you are trying to fix for them. At times they already know what's up more than you they just don't have the ability to do it. You know what I'm saying? Oh well I'll get the hang of it, they should just give us all blackberries to know it better even if it was for like a month or something that would be great! You know what I'm saying? On the phones now!

Thei first day on the phone was not so great we had a partner the first time on the phones and we were taking turns on the calls. The guy I paired up Tyler was such a slow typer and just watching him made me very annoyed he was doing the two finger thing. So that day was not so great I felt that I was not doing what I wanted to do to get what people wanted and at times I felt so stupid that the customer knows more about the blackberry than I do I mean I really think they should give all of us like an actual week and not an hour of using the blackberry or something because I dont' know what it does when I tell them to do something with it. so first day on phone sucks!

Wednesday it was paired the first couple hours and then they thought that we can go solo on the calls. I was so scared I could hardly get the greeting out correctly. I had some calls that would take like an hour and a half because I really didn't know what to do with them and had wave some of the people down to help me out a little. I think our training sucks because most of the problems I was having is finding what I needed to help them. We are suppose to use this website thingy in our server and it was soooo hard to navigate through it I mean the search engine you have to be so damn procise. like if you were looking for (adding blackberry data plan) you can't say plan data or blackberry data. You have to enter exactly blackberry date plan. It's ridiculous stupid. I had this call that they wanted to remove the blackberry email and data plan out of their blackberry and we're not able to do that because it's a blackberry and it's required to have a data plan but seriously why would you buy a blackberry without having the ability to email and use the browser?! They were very upset and I had to get a SME to tell them off. Finally they gave in and paid for the 34.99 plan. Whatever! Anyway it's very difficult and I was actually stressing trying to get them all working again.

Last day of training!

I actually had an fun day at work today, we are finally at our desk on the main floor of where we will be taking calls for "Sprint together with Nextel" Blackberry support. So we settled in making sure everything works which it was still having some problems but hopefully good by tomorrow. It was actually a fast working day today also.

We all had to go to the Cafeteria they had at EDS for our Graduation Ceremony haha it's so funny but whatever! They had a lot of people involved in this group and EDS is very proud to have this Sprint/Nextel thing going on for them so that's why they're making such a big deal for us. So we had a ceremony and we walked through the people and gave them fives like an NBA lineup thingy. People were just walking through them like they're embarassed or something whatever. We were forever clapping until everyone was called my hands were really red by the end of that. When they called my name I didn't even hear through all the clapping. Anyway I ran through them giving them lows not high fives and accepted my "diploma" for passing the training course.

OOOOOH Great thing happened OH YES!! There was an award at the end for most knowledgeable and YES! Joe (the guy I REALLY REALLY HATE because he thinks he knows EVERYTHING!) Didn't get the award!! HAHAHAHHA it was this asian dude that got it for our class! HAHAH oh man if you saw the face he had! HAHAHAH oh it felt soooooooooooo good!! I think I might be related to him because his last name is Cam. I'm related to many asian people I don't even know most of them. So after the cake and ice cream stuff I sat back at my table and emailed Sonny and junk and talked to my fellow co-workers via instant messaging. We started to use our phones we have to talk but the people told us we had to get off of them so that didn't work. Ok so I think I'm done... Tomorrow is going to suck I don't think any of us is prepared for the calls we're going to have.

It's Tuesday so far sucky!

Man... We are moving so slow in this class like everything is not working! Like there is so much waiting for our computers to respond to a lot of things that we need to work with. When we do get things going it's real boring and I end up sleeping while they talk. I guess I'm kinda known for sleeping now which sucks because that happen to me at school. Whatever though... oh my god we had to change seats because I don't know maybe he wants us to get along with others or some crap which is great with me because I had to sit next to this weird old guy that is just very odd. So I sat next to this chick his was a stout woman she was, and she got one of those mugs that you drink coffee in ok that's cool. Guess how many sugar packets she put in that? 30!! That's insane her teeth are so gonna rot! I was just cringing at all of that sugar she was adding... It's so gross I can't imagine anyone drinking anything that sweet.

Yeah what else oh on Monday we had to take this damn stupid ass test that was suppose to teach us how to be a good worker and help stop the turnover rate or soemthing. I don't know but we had to get an amount right and all this stuff. I felt so STUPID! I had to go over the exercises like 3 times each while almost everyone was almost done then when we did our test part I took it like 4 times! and it sucked because 3 times I had like 17/30 and you had to get 18! I'm like OH COME ON! Yeah I felt really stupid that day. I don't know how we are going to be ready to take calls next week because we have not learn a lot of anything and nothing is going right in the class there should be a wait on us and another training week for us because it is just not going right!

Update: Wrote this before I read Olivia's comment on my previous post... Yeah I think I will stick it out It's something I can relate more to than working at the library.

Training Day 4

Another boring day of not working! 8 hours of sitting in front of a computer that you can't do much with. Everything they were telling me it's like I already know or it's not difficult. I've had a two palm pilots and a Pocket PC before so learning the Blackberry isn't so hard. I am starting to not mind one of the smartasses. I overheard one of them and they were talking like I know a lot because I went to school for it and all but it's not like a brag about it. My god when will this asshole stop? Why isn't he doing something better with his life then you dumbass.

During lunch I ate at their cafeteria and ate with some of the people in class man I felt young! It was just weird so I left the table as early and went back to my desk and listen to my ipod. Working there isn't so great and Sarah said there's opening at the downtown Library I would want to leave but it's like I just started and they are losing money if I left for the training and the stuff like that, I don't know they were explaining it to us. Well Nothing fun happened sorry to waste your time reading this.

Training Day 2

Another boring training day, got there at 8 and he started talking taking us to websites and showing us a lot of stuff I really didn't understand but he says that, that will happen until you actually see what goes on. Yeah yeah so we were suppose to have these people come in telling us how to use this thing called blue pumpkin but they canceled so we really didn't do much that whole entire day. It was weird sitting all day I'm so use to standing and moving around all day. Those two guys are really buggin me the ones that think they know it all. Just shut up! I really hope I never sit by any of them when we actually work. I'm just happy they were democrats or else I would have to kick them soon. I fell asleep on one of the videos we watched the guy didn't see me so it's cool. Yeah just a boring day for me and another one will come. OH well today we had a 45 minute lunch which was great! I like that tons better than a half hour. Just a boring day a lot of time wasted.

I forgot to bring this up when I went to the restroom today the guy using the urinal started farting like crazy! I washed my hands real quick and got the hell out of there!
